Lacrosse...Game 2

The gentleman across the street coaches Youth Lacrosse.  He has twin boys about a year older than Tory, and since they moved in they've been trying to convince us to sign him up!  So we finally succumbed to the pressure and did it.  He's been antsy to play SOMETHING for a while now, and he was leaning toward football which is super expensive.  (Really?  Can't we just stick with the community soccer?  $45 and you get a cool shirt, fancy socks, and a rockin' trophy at the end! What's not to like?)

Well, guess what...So is Lacrosse!  A small fortune later, Tory is having the time of his life playing Lacrosse with his team.  He's had two games now, and he's been really busy for the last couple of weeks (between "Pinocchio", homework, and Lacrosse, he can barely stop to breathe!), but things should get a little easier on him now that his show is over.

Here he is heading onto the field.  (We have to watch for the orange tongue of his shoes...With all those boys on the field all geared up they look kinda the same!)

He has jersey number 3!

Coach Doug says that it's tradition in Lacrosse to give each player a nickname and then put it on their helmet.  He name Tory "Goose", which he doesn't really get.  But we think Doug must be a "Top Gun" fan!  There is also a "Showtime" and a "Hollywood" on the team!

I'm really excited to see what comes of this fun new talent.  Tory is so athletic, he loves all sports and usually just picks them up like a champ!  (The only flaw I see is that they play when it's COLD...For now the games have been in good weather...But I'm not looking forward to that changing!)

Good luck to a fun season!

My Budding Stars!

Okay.  Show's over.  Now it's time to show you how fun they looked in their show.  These are some pictures from "Pinocchio".  In this version, Pino is a girl.  She is the doll of Annabelle who has three brothers and she wants her doll to be a real little sister.

The brothers, spying of Annabelle.  (Tory is the one at the bottom of the stack!)

After Annabelle falls asleep, the brothers all creep into the room to look around.

The fairy put "Marcus" (Tory!) in a trance...

The Green Chorus!  (Don't be fooled by the black shirts...!)  They're singing "Brand New Day".  Megan is in the Green Chorus...

And so is Spencer...!

Foxy and Kitty (Sydney!  In the blue!) meet up with Pino in the woods after she leaves the puppet show.  They try to steal the 5 gold coins that the puppet master gave her to use on her way home.

One of the funniest scenes in the play!  All the brothers are now doctors.  Tory is Doctor #3...standing by the door looking thoughtful.  After the fairy saves Pino from the thieves, she brings her home and brings doctors in to see if she is okay.

Green Chorus again, singing "It's Trouble".

Spencer's solo line:  "If trouble would simply leave me alone I'd do much better on my own."  (I didn't know the director knew him that well...)

After Pino promises to be good, she goes to school.  This little montage showed her at school answering questions and doing well, so you could tell she had kept her promise and was studying...

Tory and Sydney were both students in the class.  You can't see Sydney, but Tory is on the far right in the green shirt.

The fairy tells Pino that because she has worked so hard she's going to turn her into a real girl.  Then she gives her invitations to invite her friends to a special breakfast.  One of the friends that Pino invites is Candlelight.  (Sydney!)

But Candlelight can't come, because she's waiting for the cart to come and take her to Funland.  She convinces Pino to come with her.

Just a funny side note...The Funland cart is being pulled by a camel (probably left over from the summer production of "Joseph"!) wearing donkey ears...I was totally not fooled.  I knew it was a camel.

Everybody is onstage for "Welcome to Funland"!  (Megan)

(Tory)

(More Megan!)

This is Candlelight telling Pino how she should be so glad she came to Funland, and she owes it all to Candlelight!

Notice the donkey ears...Oh no!  They've been turned into donkeys, and not the cart driver is going to sell them to a mean circus boss!  Pino gets away at the last minute (But not Sydney...she's a gonner!) and you hear her scream (like she's falling...) followed by a splash!

Then when the lights come back on, you see Pino in the belly of this whale!  Then she discovers Annabelle is there, too!

Lucky for them...The whale is asleep with it's mouth open, and Pino is made of plastic, so they are able to swim/float all the way to dry land!

Green Chorus again..."You're Amazing!"

Spencer was funny...He had this stick with all these ribbons attached to the end, and he would dance around with it.  But he stood completely still for at least one whole verse because they'd gotten tangled up and he stood there trying to untangle them!

Megan's solo:  "With the heart of a tiger you move forward with courage finding the strength that you need deep within to get through."

Curtain Call!

Megan and Spencer in their Green!

Tory!

Sydney!  (With Pino and Erin, the director!)

The whole cast.  The leads got yellow shirts, then there were three chorus groups.  The production crew all had black shirts.

I love that my brave children WANT to try new stuff!  I mean, I guess it stops counting as "new stuff" if they keep doing it all the time, but they enjoy it.  I am proud of their talent, and proud to show them off!  I sure love them!
